Linguistic Love - protecting the apostrophe from abuse
I have always been passionate about the apostrophe.
I blame my parents (they're teachers).
It's an entirely one-sided love affair but even so, I find myself with an overwhelming urge to protect it from theft and abuse.
I spend hours every week trawling through my clients' marketing material, weeding out misplaced apostrophes and returning them to their rightful owners.
There's a touch of the Robin Hoods about it.
I know what you're thinking and you're absolutely right. I do need to get out more.
